She saw the cheerful young man and gave a small nod with a smile. “Hello there. My name is Celes.”

“Pleasure to meet you, Celes. My name is Firion.” he replied to the blonde. He reached a hand out towards her for a handshake.

She takes it and gives a firm handshake in return. “It’s nice to meet you too, Firion. If it’s alright to ask, what brings you here?”

“You, got me there, I’m not really sure. Though ending up in another world from my own is surprisingly common for me.” he chuckled back as he pulled away once the handshake was finished, rubbing the back of his head. “Where am I?”

Ba became curious, more so than he had intended. He gave the bow a good look, then glanced back at the other weapons. So the other was better with certain weapons? The brunet wanted to know just what they were.

“Which ones are the ones you’re better with?”

Firion chuckled sheepishly, not used to this kind of attention. Hilda had praised him and his friends quite often, but more so for their deeds.

“Well, swords, even better with knives, though.”

The youth grinned brightly, having a thought in mind. He would like to see the other perform some tricks, if the other didn’t mind. The brunet had always liked watching others try out their weapons, especially when they were good at it.

“Hey hey— mind doing a little test for me?”

The young man tilted his head. A test? Judging by their conversation, the other wanted to see his skill. Firion himself was also curious of the other’s skill with that large sword so..

“I don’t mind at all.”

After showing it off, the youth returned the sword to it’s rightful place. He then took a better look at the other boy, noticing that he had a couple of weapons on him. The sight was a bit surprising, though exciting at well to imagine what the other can do with such strength.

“What about you?” he ask with a grin. “Are you some weapon master?”

He pulled his bow from his back as well, holding it flat in his hands.

“Yeah. It took quite some time to master them all. Though I excel at some more then others.”

It wasn’t a lie, swords and knives were more of his forte, where he was mediocre at best with the axe and bow. His friends were more talented in those areas. He slung the bow back on it’s place.

“Huh?”

He quickly unsheathed the giant weapon from his back, huffing a bit as he lifted to show it off. It was definitely bigger than the youth himself, and obviously much heavier. He could remember a time where he couldn’t lift the sword at first, but he gotten himself used to it after some force.

“This big thing here? — I guess you’re right, but I made it possible after some practice.”

Although Firion shouldn’t have been one to talk with all the weapons he was armed with, but it was certainly impressive he mastered a sword that size and weight.

“It’s remarkable what practice can accomplish, huh?”

The youth also didn’t approve of the plans from a man named Sima Yi, though he decided to leave that out. He said enough, anyway.

“—…”

The mood was suddenly a depressing one, and he didn’t like to brood over things, especially to another. The boy then decided to change the mood by smiling again, hoping to change the subject to a more happier and lively one.

“Hey now— Lets talk about something else, okay?”

He was glad the heavy atmosphere was gone, and Ba seemed to type not to dwell either.

“Right.” Not wanting an awkward silence, since he was generally bad with those, Firion figured that surely there was plenty for warriors such as themselves to discuss, right? Although obvious to what they carried on their person, it was fun talking about their weapons of choice.

“Not because of your height or anything, but isn’t it hard wielding that sword?” he asked.

He wasn’t sure how to answer the question without bringing up too many details that the other could care less about. The teen thought over his past events, and how he dealt with the results. After a shake of his head, he once more looked at the other youth with a sheepish expression.

“A cousin of mine was killed by one of our generals— I was afraid I would be killed too.” He gave a hesitant pause. “how can a kingdom turn their back on their people like that? I didn’t want to be living a life like that… I wanted freedom.”

“Oh…I see. I apologize for my question.”

The teen could see where the other came from. He knew what it was like having his family’s life taken by the army,even if Ba’s was taken internally, almost losing Leon…..his story was something that could related to, despite difference of ranks among the two so he understood.

He noticed the odd look from his new friend, though he didn’t dwell on the thought of it for long, shifting his attention to the new question. He had served the Cao family, in honour of his father, but something turned out wrong in the Kingdom of Wei, and the youth wanted out.

“Freedom.”

“Were you attacked by a power hungry man?”

Firion certainly knew where Ba was coming from, wanting to free not only Fynn, but every kingdom from Mateus’ grip. Sure many lives were lost but in the end, there was peace once more.

The brunet knew a thing or two about rebelling, though others from his world took it as a traitorous act. Pushing the troubling thought aside, the smaller teen thought over the mention of an emperor. He figured the man was a greedy one, and Firion only fought for freedom, it seemed.

Freedom — that’s what Ba fought for as well.

“Well, I used to be a general for a kingdom,” he said, sheepishly, “but I left— for a good reason too!”

The rebel was a bit taken aback by Ba’s response. He looked Firion’s age, if not a little younger. Borghen was at least three times the brunet’s age to get his status with Mateus, although short lived. Not only that, Ba had given up his rank.

Shaking the thought off, he responded back. “If you don’t mind me asking, what was the reason for giving up such a title?”

Fynn? That was certainly a foreign place to him, though it was not a surprise. Thanks to recent events, Ba has learned to get used to stumbling into other worlds. With a friendly expression, he answered with a similar reply, “I’m Xiahou Ba and I’m from a place called China. It’s a pleasure to meet you too, Firion!”

The teen blinked. Though meeting people from other worlds has certainly been something he was accustomed to from the goddess’ war cycles, still some kingdoms were unfamiliar. He stared curiously at the brunet he towered over.

“China?” he let out a small chuckle. “Pleasure’s all mine, Xiahou Ba.”

After a better look, he noticed that the silver-haired boy was much taller up close. The brunet was used to being shorter than most males, though he was glad that he wasn’t teased by this individual about the height difference.

“— So are you a warrior too?” he asked in a curious tone.

Distracted from his prior question by Ba’s, he replied.

“I guess you could say I am. I’m part of a rebel army, though now that the Emperor was brought down there’s not much use for one now. Yourself?”

He wondered if the Chaos war cycles counted as his warrior experience despite the fact his memory was taken in those, though he could still remember what had occurred. Firion supposed it wasn’t something to remark on, seeing as the boy would have no knowledge of Chaos or Cosmos.
